Free concert in St Pancras on Wednesday

A chance to hear the new organ in action

Hello. A quick reminder that this coming Wednesday 21st June at 3pm there is an organ recital in the church organised by the Two Moors Festival on behalf of friends of the festival. They have very kindly agreed to make the concert available to Widecombe parishioners.

So if you haven’t heard our lovely new organ yet and would like to, now’s your chance!

The recital is given by Charles Maxtone Smith, who is organist at Buckfast Abbey and myself. Charles has a first class musical pedigree which includes Westminster Abbey, and has just recorded all of Vierne’s organ symphonies, so we are very lucky to have him with us.

We will play a varied programme desiged to show off the organ’s capabilities: Bach, Elgar, Vaughan Williams, Reger and more.

The recital will last about 45 minutes. No tickets are required, just come along: seats are first come first served.
