Help us build a new playground
Can you help The Friends of Widecombe-in-the-Moor Primary School?

The Friends of Widecombe-in-the-Moor Primary School - a ‘small group of parents dedicated to making the school a safe, fun and inclusive place to be for all children’ - are working hard to make the school a better place.
They are now appealing for your help …
Our job is to raise money for our tiny school to run extra curricular activities that further support learning and provide great memories and childhood experiences, as well as help to provide safe and well maintained areas for educational growth and wellbeing. We already work hard to fundraise for the money these endeavours require, which is why we now need your help.
Whilst Widecombe-in-the-Moor is a beautiful school in spirit, its physical outside space is sorely lacking and in disrepair.
Whilst Widecombe-in-the-Moor is a beautiful school in spirit, its physical outside space is sorely lacking and in disrepair. We have recently undergone some building refurbishments, making provision for Reception children to finally have their own classroom, but the entire school desperately needs a playground. The small set of equipment we currently use is so old and slippery, there are many days it cannot be used. The slide is no longer fit for use at all and the small asphalt area for outside games is cracked and needs replacing.
As the school grows in popularity due to its brilliant reputation of inclusivity for all learning needs, the playground needs to be equally inclusive so that all children can access a unique and exciting outdoor environment to play, create and interact.
Due to the age of the school, we need a creative company who can make use of all the curious nooks and crannies but this takes money we simply don't have. We desire sensory areas, something to climb, a place to slide and somewhere to dig and plant vegetables.
Widecombe in the Moor Primary School is a hub of learning, thriving and kindness, thanks to the amazing teachers and support from learning aids and parents, but we need your help. Please help us revive the outside space of our beautiful school and be a part of creating something truly special for our lovely kids.
All giving is generous, so give a little, or a lot. A problem shared can be a problem solved!
As you can see from the below photos, the areas the children have to play in are in desperate need of replacement or revival:

We are hoping to do something much better…
